I have to say that Saturday the 6th was one of the best Temecula weekends. There was so much to enjoy and we welcomed a break in the weather which made all of the outdoor activities even more enjoyable. Here is a list of what was going on and a few photos from some of the events. The bargain of the weekend is listed at the end of this post.
I started my morning with a quick jaunt to the farmer's market in Old Town - Well, I thought it was going to be quick until I ran in to several old friends and acquaintances. For those of us who have lived in the valley for twenty years it it nearly impossible to go anywhere in town without seeing someone we know. Had a great time, bought more than I could carry and enjoyed some squash as part of last night's dinner.
The asparagus was gorgeous and as I stood in line to make my purchase the customer in front of me was talking about making asparagus soup. Stepped out of line, added a few more bunches to my bag and made plans for our own asparagus soup. No apologies - who wouldn't be moved to use such beautiful vegetables
Must admit, I did buy some fresh bread to dip in the garlic olive oil.
My next stop was to Peltzer Family Pumpkin Patch - Arrived close to 11:00 and there were about 60 families or groups, yet the pumpkin patch was not crowded. People were enjoying the picnic area, taking pictures, riding ponies and listening to music. Some were in the corn maze and some were learning mining techniques. I stolled, took pictures (of course) and made plans for my pumpkin purchases. http://peltzerfarms.com/
Lastly, I met a friend for a walking tour of the Temecula Quilt Show. Talked with several of the quilters and also caught the knitting bug in The Wool Lady http://www.thewoollady.net/ . Running out of space here, just as I ran out of time this weekend. Didn't get to everything I had hoped - especially the house cleaning. Hope you enjoy a few more photos to motivate you to get out and around the valley.
The bargains of the weekend were Peltzer Family Pumpkin Patch and the free walking tour of Old Town.
Have a great week -
